Indian Embassy investigating case of Indian couple found dead in West Africa

The Indian Embassy has implemented an action plan post the death of an Indian couple in South Africa. The Embassy of India, Côte d'Ivoire has conveyed their condolences and extended support to the family of the deceased.

Two Indian nationals, Santosh and Sanjay Goel, were discovered dead in Abidjan, and their deaths have been confirmed by the Indian Embassy in Cote d'Ivoire. The embassy sent the bereaved family its sincere condolences and promised to assist them in every way possible. 

The Indian Embassy stated on X, the previous Twitter platform, that it is actively collaborating with the local authorities to facilitate the return of the couple's remains to their nation of origin. Additionally, it promised to offer the mourning family full support. 

Embassy of India, Côte d'Ivoire addressed matter:

The embassy also said that it is ‘working closely’ to conduct a thorough inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the deaths of the Indian nationals. "We are working closely with the local authorities to ensure a comprehensive investigation into the matter. Our priority is to ascertain the facts surrounding this unfortunate incident and to provide answers to the grieving family. We will continue to collaborate with the relevant authorities to bring clarity to this situation," the embassy’s statement added.

Another case of Indian abroad  

Amarnath Ghosh, a professional Bharatanatyam and Kuchupudi dancer from Kolkata, was shot and killed in Missouri, USA, in a different event. The Indian Consulate General in Chicago sent Ghosh's family and friends its deepest sympathies after learning of his passing. He reported that he would follow up with forensic investigations, be in touch with the police, and be providing any needed support.
