International News: India has achieved a major achievement amidst moving steps towards clean energy around the world. India has now left Germany behind in solar and wind power production. This achievement not only shows India's energy capacity but will also strengthen the economic and environmental status of the country in the coming times.
India added a record 24 GW of solar power capacity in 2023. Experts estimate that solar energy share in India's total power generation will reach 7% in 2024. India is now receiving 10% of the total power generation from wind and solar energy, which increases its energy self -sufficiency
Interest on clean energy is increasing rapidly all over the world. In 2024 it is estimated that 15% of global power generation will be of solar and wind energy. Due to this, the dominance of green energy in the world economy is constantly getting stronger.
The Government of India aims to generate 50% of the country's electricity from non-living fuel sources by 2030. There is a plan to establish 500 GW of energy capacity for this. However, to achieve this goal, India will have to invest 20% more in clean energy every year.
The impact of this progress of India will be seen on the whole of Asia. Energy security will increase in the entire Asia in solar energy and will get economic strength. Also, developing countries will get a chance to join the new energy economy, which will boost sustainable development.
