US, Saudi Arabia, India and other countries are in talks on infrastructure deal involving railroads and ports, according to the reports surfaced on Thursday.

According to an American news agency, it is anticipated that this project can be the key initiative that the White House is pushing in the Middle East where China’s influence is growing and the country is a key part of Beijing’s Belt and Road vision.

US President Joe Biden who is on his way to New Delhi to be part of G20 Summit, is scheduled to meet PM Narendra Modi and will jointly discuss the plan with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman.

Notably, before the 2024 campaign swallows Biden’s agenda, the Biden administration intends to finish its diplomatic effort for a mega-deal with Saudi Arabia that might include a normalisation pact between the kingdom and Israel.

According to the sources, the project is anticipated to link Arab nations in the Levant and the Gulf with a network of trains that would also connect to India through seaports in the Gulf.

According to the sources, discussions done over the previous 18 months in another group dubbed I2U2, which comprises the US, Israel, the UAE, and India, resulted in the idea for this new endeavour.
