Human trafficking racket busted: Mumbai Police has busted a large-scale human trafficking and fake passport racket by arresting accused Roshan Bhaskar Dudhwadkar (50) from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. According to the police, Dudhwadkar and his accomplice Rajesh Panchal helped smuggle 80 Indian nationals to countries like Canada, Netherlands, Turkey and Poland using fake travel documents.
Mumbai Police received information about Dudhwakar's suspicious activities through the Foreigners Regional Registration Officer (FPRO) on February 28. A team of Mumbai Police detained Dudhwakar at the airport. He lives in Andheri East.
Investigation has revealed that Rajesh Panchal used to make fake passports and visas and used to charge a huge amount of Rs 30 to 50 lakh per passenger. To ensure smooth clearance of passengers from the airport, Panchal along with Dudhwadkar presented fake documents. For this, Dudhwadkar used to get Rs 50,000 per passenger. It is alleged that both the accused together used to cheat the Indian authorities by taking advantage of the loopholes in the immigration system.
