A terrifying accident in Dayu County, China, was caught on camera, showing a Tesla Model Y soaring several feet into the air, rolling over seven times, and finally coming to a stop. The footage shows the Model Y not only airborne but also lengthwise, with parts of the vehicle reaching more than 15 feet above the ground, the length of the Model Y itself.Despite the severity of the accident, the outcome was surprisingly positive. The Model Y carried four passengers: a woman driving, a man in the front passenger seat, and two individuals in the back. After the vehicle rolled over seven times and was airborne, it landed on its side, aiding in the extraction efforts.TESLA FLIPPED 7 TIMES IN CRASH: NO ONE DIED! pic.twitter.com/xDPY5CinP6— Geopolitical Kid (@Geopoliticalkid) June 25, 2024The accident caused significant damage. The windshield was completely shattered, and large chunks of the glass roof were missing. The vehicle experienced severe to moderate damage from bumper to bumper. However, the aftermath revealed some good news. Videos of the incident show the Model Ys airbags properly deployed, protecting all passengers. The driver, passenger, and side airbags, including one designed to prevent the driver and passenger from colliding, were all activated.Although the passengers sustained minor injuries, likely from shattered glass, they were generally unharmed. The woman behind the wheel appeared relieved, even smiling, while the man next to her used his smartphone, seemingly uninjured. Social media reports suggest one rear passenger had minor injuries, while the other was practically unscathed. This fortunate outcome is attributed to more than just luck. The Tesla Model Y, known as the best-selling and safest vehicle globally, has received top safety ratings from various regulatory and third-party organizations. In the US, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), part of the Department of Transportation, awarded the Model Y a 5-star rating in all categories, the highest possible score.
