After months of Russia’s invasion on Ukraine, on Monday, the Russian Ambassador to India, Denis Alipov, from Moscow reacted to the claims of the reports that Pakistan is providing weapons to Ukraine to aid its war against Russia. Reacting to this, Alipov said that if the reports are confirmed, it amounts to ‘explicit anti-Russia actions’ which cannot be taken for granted.

While talking to ANI, Denis Alipov said, “Yes, there have been reports and information about such instances. We take this information very seriously. Such examples, if confirmed, are very explicit anti-Russia actions that we cannot ignore.”

Russia looks towards a peaceful resolution of the conflict with Ukraine but Kyiv has repeatedly said that it is not interested in negotiations with Moscow, according to Ambassador Denis Alipov.

It should be mentioned that despite the continuous conflict with Russia, connections between Ukraine and Pakistan have gradually grown closer. This year, Islamabad began purchasing wheat from Kyiv and is apparently sending the country’s war-torn country weaponry and other defence supplies.

Last month, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba travelled to Pakistan for a single day. This was the first ministerial visit by a Ukrainian official since the two nations’ establishing of diplomatic relations in 1993. Moscow has expressed displeasure with the events, claiming that ‘very explicit anti-Russia measures’ could not be disregarded.

In addition to this, the Russian envoy also claimed according to the sources, a shipment of over 10,000 rockets intended for use in Grad multi-barrel rocket launchers was sent from a Karachi Port to Ukraine in February this year. The shipment was sent via Germany’s Emden Port.

The sources also claims that Pakistan had been appealing Russia for discounted oil amid its economic crisis despite supplying arms to Ukraine on a regular basis.

Speaking about the ongoing war in Ukraine, Ambassador Denis Alipov said Russia is looking for a peaceful resolution of the conflict, but Kyiv is not cooperating. Ukraine has repeatedly said it is not interested in negotiations with Moscow, he said.
