Gunfire breaks out in Maryland; Injures 5, total mass shooting case crosses '120' in US this year

In a heartbreaking incident, five teens were shot and injured, one of them critically on Friday afternoon in a Prince George's County park in Greenbelt, Maryland where hundreds of students from multiple high schools had gathered on "senior skip day."

Five teenagers aged 16 to 18 were injured in the shooting. Hundreds of high school students were present in the park. Police said that hundreds of high school students gathered during school drop-off on Friday (April 19) in a park in Greenbelt, Maryland. Greenbelt Police Chief Richard Bowers told a media briefing that one victim was in critical condition and the other was in stable condition. 

120 mass shooting case in 110 days this year

According to the Gun Violence Archive, there have been 120 mass shootings in the United States in the first 110 days of this year, when four or more people were shot and killed. The shooter may not have been involved in these incidents.
An estimated 500 to 600 students from at least two high schools gathered at the park for what is known as Senior Skip Day, when students in their final year of high school skip their classes.
