In a startling incident, a family in Kampung Dew, Kamunting, Malaysia, experienced an unforgettable shock when a giant python weighing 80 kilograms and stretching over five meters long smashed through their living room roof. The enormous reptile landed directly on their sofa, leaving the household in utter panic.

The python is believed to have wandered in from a nearby oil palm plantation. Alarmed by the unexpected intruder, the family quickly reached out to the Taiping District Civil Defence Force (APM) for assistance. The dramatic incident unfolded around 8 PM on November 22.

District APM officer Faizulhalimi Mohd Yunus described the python as one of the largest ever captured in the region. "The operation to capture the reptile was carried out by seven personnel last Friday after receiving a call at 8 PM from MERS 999," he stated.

The encounter garnered widespread attention after a video of the massive python went viral on social media. Officer Faizulhalimi confirmed that the snake was measured at over five meters in length and weighed approximately 80 kilograms, making it an extraordinary catch for the district’s rescue team.

The incident highlights the challenges faced by residents living near plantations, where wildlife occasionally ventures into human habitation. While the family was shaken, no injuries were reported during the ordeal.
