In the ongoing G20 Summit, achieving another milestone towards biofuels, PM Narendra Modi on Saturday launched the Global Biofuels Alliance in the presence of the world leaders US President Joe Biden, President of Brazil Luiz Inacio, President of Argentina, Alberto Fernández and Prime Minister of Italy Giorgia Meloni.

According to the sources, the Global Biofuel Alliance among one of the priorities under India’s G20 Presidency. It is to be noted here that Brazil, India, and the United States, are the leading biofuel producers and consumers, who, according to the deal will work together during the next few months towards the development of a Global Biofuels Alliance along with other interested countries.

The alliance will work towards enhancing global collaboration and cooperation for intensifying the use of sustainable biofuels, including the transportation sector. Apart from this, the alliance will also work for the acceleration for the adoption of biofuels by identifying global best practices for the development and deployment of sustainable biofuels and bioproducts.

While announcing the launch of the alliance, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that the G20 Leaders’ Summit Declaration adopted on Saturday focuses on promoting strong, sustainable, balanced and inclusive growth.

Taking it to Twitter, “The launch of the Global Biofuels Alliance marks a watershed moment in our quest towards sustainability and clean energy. I thank the member nations who have joined this Alliance.”
