The mission began in June 2023 during a test flight, which NASA completed with great courage and challenges. Both astronauts boarded SpaceX's capsule and landed safely in the Gulf of Mexico on March 19, 2025. The splashdown took place in the Panhandle region off the coast of Tallahassee, Florida, ending their long space stay.

According to NASA, Williams and his team spent more than 900 hours in scientific research and conducted more than 150 experiments. A major highlight of his time was the spacewalks he conducted outside the ISS, in which he spent a total of 62 hours and 9 minutes.
