Friendship with China, enmity with India… Mohammad Yunus is putting Bangladesh in trouble

By befriending China and hating India, Mohammad Yunus is putting Bangladesh in trouble. The day India pulls its back on Bangladesh, he will fall to the ground with a thud. Mohammad Yunus has probably forgotten that he is safe because India exists.

There  is a common saying that those who live in glass houses do not throw stones at others. But the chief advisor of the interim government of Bangladesh, Mohammad Yunus, forgot this. He has started talking about China occupying India's Chicken Neck (Siliguri Corridor). He believes that by doing this, the rest of India will lose contact with its northeastern states. They have probably forgotten that they are safe because of India. The day India pulls out of Bangladesh, they will come crashing down on the ground. They are dependent on India for electricity, medicines and food grains. They may have opened the Chittagong port for Pakistan. But Pakistan's ships can easily deliver weapons to them by crossing the entire Indian peninsula but not everyday items. And if they order them, they have no idea how expensive they will be.

Target on Siliguri Corridor

Bangladesh's Chief Advisor and Head of Government Yunus went to Beijing and announced that the seven northeastern states of India (Seven Sisters) are landlocked, so we are the sole owners (Guardian) of the sea route for this entire region. This is an invitation to China for trade. Indirectly, he said that China's intrusion into this entire region can happen only through us. The Bangladesh government's social media cell made this statement of Mohammad Yunus public two days ago. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has called this statement of Mohammad Yunus objectionable. But the central government has not commented on it yet.

There are two chicken necks in Bangladesh too

Chittagong is also a Chicken Neck of Bangladesh and so is Rangpur. India can break Bangladesh's contact with them whenever it wants. Neither the army of Bangladesh is so powerful nor the government of Mohammad Yunus himself. The protesting students have lost their faith in him. How long will he remain the leader, no one knows. Anyway Mohammad Yunus was a puppet of former US President Joe Biden. Biden is now out and the new US President Donald Trump has no interest in Bangladesh. In Trump's eyes, China is like a thorn. That is why he is preparing to deal with Xi Jinping.

Yunus's frustration

Mohammad Yunus has made a big mistake in his haste. Although the Indian government has not commented on his statement on the surface, will India ignore his comment? Himanta Biswa Sarma must have definitely spoken after getting a signal from the center. In a way, India has also told that in the eyes of the Indian government, the importance of the chief advisor of Bangladesh is no more than that of one of its governors. Just like Donald Trump used to call Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau Governor Trudeau and Canada the 51st province of the USA. It is not that Mohammad Yunus would not have understood this signal. He must have definitely understood. But now he has spoken. The people of Bangladesh are not happy with him. Because neither could he eliminate corruption in the country nor could he solve the problem of unemployment. Despite being an economist, he could not find any solution.

Things started changing

There is no doubt that nepotism and corruption flourished in Bangladesh during Sheikh Hasina's time. But Sheikh Hasina made the entire country prosperous. During her time, unemployment was curbed and migration also stopped. The country came out of religious fanaticism. This is the reason why Sheikh Hasina's party Awami League is still very powerful. On the other hand, Khaleda Zia's Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is less popular and students also do not like her. Jamaat-e-Islami supports BNP. But you cannot keep the country prosperous by raising religious narrow-mindedness. For that, you should have a concrete plan and economic policies too. At that time, Sheikh Hasina was the villain in the eyes of the students. Therefore, the slogan of 'Remove Hasina by any means' was echoing. Today the situation has changed.

Mohammad Yunus was Biden's puppet

Sheikh Hasina fled to India on 5 August last year. Bangladesh army must have played a role in her escape! Because she had many relatives in the army. Initially, the public there had become hostile towards her, but now people have started feeling that Sheikh Hasina was better than the current regime. Whatever it may be, she was a politician. Mohammad Yunus developed hostility towards India as soon as he came.

Demand to break Bangladesh

Chittagong and Rangpur are connected to Bangladesh but the corridor connecting them is also very narrow. That is why many political parties in India are talking about dividing Bangladesh. Pradyot Debbarman, the former Maharaja of Tripura State and the head of Tipra Motha, a regional party there, has clearly said that before spending billions of rupees on the Siliguri Corridor to strengthen security there, the central government should break Bangladesh into pieces. This will also give India's northeastern states access to the sea.
