Free every women from Islamist veil: French President candidate Marine Le Pen

New Delhi: During a televised debate in Paris, France, right-wing presidential candidate Marine Le Pen, who is going to contest the Presidential candidate against currently sitting  Emmanuel Macron. Pen's controversial stand on banning hijabs (head scarfs) for women in public in the country where she refers to the garment as a uniform forced upon woman, further claiming that she is not against the religion.

Macron says 'civil war'

Meanwhile, Emmanuel Macron countered Le Pen claiming that such acts coming from the right-wing leader will lead to a civil war in the country. He also pleads to the public to not elect her to not let this happen to stop her disastrous plans. 

Penn defends her stand

Defending her cause, Penn stated that France is the place where enlightenment and universalism spread throughout the world. But now it is en route to becoming the first country to ban any sort of religious activities in the public domain, which will become easier for the police and the administration to not run behind people who are in a head scarf or any other kind of religious symbol.

Nothing against Islam, says Pen

Pen tells the media that she has nothing against the religion of Islam but she wants to put a fight against what is causing terrorism and putting the lives of so many at risk, saying she has not forgotten the terrorist attacks that have occurred and we have to remember that all the troublemakers are Islamists. There is a need for a law against Islamist ideology, the religion is a part of the country, coexisting with all.  

She goes on further that the Islamist ideology lets down the principles of France as a republic, undermining equality, secularism as well as democracy. It takes freedom of choice from women as well.
