Sheikh Hasina
International News: Dhaka Bangladesh's former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is tightening the grip. According to the reports released by Bangladesh media, the local police has requested Interpol to issue a red corner notice against Sheikh Hasina. This request has been made by the National Central Bureau (NCB) of Bangladesh Police, so that Hasina can be declared as "fugitive criminals" and can be started internationally.
Sheikh Hasina was out of power in August last year amidst the widespread protests in the country. Soon after, he took refuge in India. Since that time, she is still in exile. Nobody knows where she is. After removing them, an interim government was formed under the leadership of Nobel Peace Prize winner Mohammad Yunus, against which Hasina and her party Awami League are now being accused of conspiring to demolish the government.
The Bangladesh Police has so far filed more than 100 criminal cases against Hasina and her party leaders. These cases include serious allegations such as treason, corruption, genocide and anti -government activities.
A senior police headquarters said that, "After receiving the request from the court and the prosecution, an appeal has been sent to Interpol for a red notice. This step is part of the investigation of cases issued in the country."
Hasina pro -Hasina considers this action inspired by the spirit of political revenge. They allege that Mohammad Yunus's interim government is targeting Hasina and close to her to extract old enmity.
Significantly, former Prime Minister Hasina made a sharp statement some time ago: "People who play with fire can also burn themselves." In political circles, this statement was considered a direct warning for the Yunus government.
It is not clear at the moment whether Interpol will accept Bangladesh's request. If the red corner notice is issued, Sheikh Hasina's presence in India can become a diplomatic challenge and the demand for her extradition may also arise. This case has become important not only in Bangladesh politics but also for the regional stability of South Asia. In the coming days, international eyes will be deepened.
