The CPEC is a key element in Pakistan's infrastructure and energy development.

As Pakistan prepares to host the Shangai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit, the country has increased security measures. Authorities are investigating the explosion, which is suspected to have been caused by an IED. Local hospitals have reported receiving multiple injured victims, including a police officer and a woman. One person is in critical condition, as confirmed by local medical authorities.
