The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Tesla Elon Musk broke his silence on the ongoing strike against his company in Sweden, saying it was 'insane' as the workers called strike for collective bargaining rights.

Escalating situations for Tesla

The strike was launched by the metal workers' after Tesla's refusal to sign the collective wage agreement. On Monday, Swedish postal workers also halted the deliveries to Tesla offices and repair shops in solidarity with metal workers.

As per the reports from Dagens Industri, this could block new Tesla from hitting the road as license plates for new cars issued by the Swedish Transport Agency are only delivered via mail carrier Postnord.

Reacting to the escalating situation, Elon posted on platform X(formerly Twitter), "This is insane."

The AFP reported that Mikael Andersson, who is the head of press at the Swedish Transport Agency, confirmed through an email that new number plates were delivered by Postnord.

According to the trade union IF Metall, almost 130 mechanics at 10 Tesla repair shops joined the strike.

Impact of strike

Despite all these attempts, several Swedish media have reported that the impacts of the strike have so far been limited as IF Metall has accused the electric carmaker company of systematically using strikebreakers to avoid the labor action.
