Earthquake of Magnitude 6.9 jolts southern Philippines

An earthquake of magnitude 6.9 on the Richter scale struck the southern Mindanao region of the Philippines on Friday, the German Research Center for Geosciences said.

An earthquake of magnitude 6.9 on the Richter scale struck the southern Mindanao region of the Philippines on Friday, as reported by the German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ). 
 

 According to the German Seismic Department, the quake occurred at a depth of 10 km, however, no tsunami has been reported, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said. 
 


 
No causality has been reported so far however, authorities have urged residents to exercise caution and be on alert for aftershocks and damage.
