Earthquake of magnitude 4.5 on a Richter scale struck Myanmar early on Saturday morning. The quake took place at 04:53:48 IST at a depth of 30 km.
The National Centre for Seismology took to ‘X’ to make the announcement and wrote “Earthquake of Magnitude:4.5, Occurred on 28-10-2023, 04:53:48 IST, Lat: 26.36 & Long: 95.41, Depth: 30 Km, Location: Myanmar.”

Meanwhile, two consecutive earthquakes also hit parts of Afghanistan late Friday. The first tremors were felt at around 10:30 pm while the second one took place past midnight.
According to the NCS, the first earthquake on Friday was of magnitude 5.0 and took place around 169 km away from Fayzabad at a depth of 106 km. The second earthquake was of magnitude 4.5 at a distance of around 86 km from Fayzabad. The depth of the quake is also said to be 105 km.
No casualty has been reported from any of these earthquakes so far.
