Earthquake of magnitude 4.0 strikes western Pakistan

A moderate 4.0-magnitude earthquake struck Pakistan early morning on Monday, according to National Center for Seismology (NCS).

A moderate 4.0-magnitude earthquake struck Pakistan early morning on Monday. According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS) in India, the quake occurred at 11:38 am local time, at a depth of about 6 miles.

The epicentre was located in western Pakistan, around latitude 29.32°N and longitude 70.12°E, the NCS reported. So far there have been no reports of injuries or damage.
 
"Earthquake of Magnitude:4.0, Occurred on 18-12-2023, 11:38:03 IST, Lat: 29.32 & Long: 70.12, Depth: 10 Km, Location: Pakistan," the NCS posted on X.
 


Monday's quake was relatively minor and unlikely to cause significant effects, although shaking may have been felt by people near the epicentre.

No casualties have been reported so far.
