During takeoff on Thursday, a United Airlines aircraft experienced a tyre failure, prompting the pilot to seek an emergency landing. The dangerous situation upon takeoff from San Francisco caused the airplane headed for Japan to be rerouted to Los Angeles. According to the Federal Aviation Administration, United Flight 35 touched down at Los Angeles International Airport without incident at 1:30 PM ET.

Here's what happened! 

At around 11:35 am, the plane lost a portion of the landing gear, according to reports. The footage from the incident shows the plane losing one of its six tyres on the left side just seconds after takeoff. The debris from the incident left multiple vehicles damaged as the tyre landed at the airport's employee parking lot. The airport said that there were no resulting injuries to anyone near the runway.

Airlines comment on the mishap

]Regarding the incident, the airline expressed gratitude to its pilots and flight attendants for their professionalism in handling the issue. The United Airlines statement also said, that they are appreciative of our personnel in the airport who supported customers upon their arrival and to their teams on the ground who were waiting with a tug to transfer shortly after the aircraft landed.

The airplane had four pilots, ten flight attendants, and 235 passengers on board when the event occurred. The airline further declared that it will cooperate with the owners of the wrecked cars to guarantee their requirements are met. 

This occurs one day after an additional United flight had to make an emergency landing due to an engine fire. Shortly after the jet engine began to spew flames on Monday, the Florida-bound Boeing aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing in Texas.
