Gregg then lured her stepfather back to the home, texting him from her mother’s phone. Upon his arrival, she shot Heath Smylie in the shoulder. Despite his injury, Heath managed to overpower Gregg and survive the ordeal. During the trial, Psychiatrist Dr. Andrew Clark testified that Gregg was experiencing a “mental health crisis” related to her medications, stating that she had no memory of the events.
Heath Smylie corroborated this claim, suggesting his stepdaughter was not in her right mind during the attack. The courtroom was left stunned when Gregg was reportedly seen giggling a day before her conviction, raising questions about her mental state. Gregg now faces the consequences of her actions, with a sentence expected to follow soon.
