On Wednesday, two earthquakes struck Afghanistan in less than 30 minutes.
The first earthquake had a magnitude of 4.4 and occurred at 12: 28 am 100 km east of Fayzabad, according to the National Centre for Seismology.

Then, the second quake of magnitude 4.8 jolted at 12:55 am, 126 km east of Fayzabad.

However, no injuries or casualties have been reported so far.
Last year on December 12, an earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter Scale hit Afghanistan.
Before that, in October 2023, a powerful 6.3 magnitude earthquake followed by strong aftershocks killed dozens of people in western Afghanistan, the country’s national disaster authority said.
Around 2,000 people died in one of the deadliest earthquakes to strike the country in two decades.
