Trump Targeted at Rally

Donald Trump, the Republican presidential candidate, was addressing a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, when a shooter fired several bullets targeting him in an assassination attempt. One spectator was killed, and two others were injured in the shooting. The United States Secret Service responded by shooting the attacker dead. The identity and motivation of the shooter are currently being investigated by US authorities.

Immediate Response

As the first shots rang out, Trump clutched his ear, where blood was visible. Secret Service agents immediately covered him and whisked him away to a waiting SUV. Before being taken away, Trump, in a show of strength, pumped his fist in the air despite his injury.

Details of the Incident

US authorities have stated that Trump's injury is not serious. Later, Trump provided details on his social networking site, Truth Social, stating, "I was shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear. I knew immediately something was wrong as I heard a whizzing sound, followed by shots, and felt the bullet ripping through my skin. It is incredible that such an act can take place in our country."
