Two people lost their lives and over a dozen others sustained injuries after a glass balcony shattered at a nightclub in San Luis Potosi, approximately 480 kilometers northwest of Mexico City. The incident occurred at the Rich Club, where a crowd had gathered to enjoy a concert by popular Mexican artist Kevin Moreno. The collapse sent victims plunging 40 feet onto the main square below.
The deceased were identified as 21-year-old Manuel Alejandro Infante Puente and 17-year-old Rodrigo Espinosa Alonso. A distressing video of the event has circulated on social media, showing the narrow escape of individuals standing below the nightclub as debris fell.

Jorge Hernandez, a representative from the town hall, stated that the nightclub had neither sought nor obtained approval to host the concert. He explained, "The constant and uncontrolled presence of people attending this event caused one of the railings on the third floor of this building to give way under pressure and lead to this tragedy, which claimed the lives of two people."
Hernandez confirmed that 15 people were injured in the accident, with some in serious condition.
This incident follows another tragic event last month when nine people died after a stage collapsed due to heavy winds at a campaign rally in San Pedro Garza Garcia, Nuevo Leon. In that event, 121 people were injured.
