New Delhi: A stabbing rampage in Southport has led police to declare a “major incident” after at least eight people, including children, were attacked. The incident unfolded on Hart Street around 11:50 AM local time, prompting a significant emergency response.

Emergency services rushed to the scene following reports of multiple stabbings. The area has been heavily cordoned off, with a substantial presence of at least 20 police cars, ambulances, and fire engines. 13 ambulances were dispatched to manage the casualties, highlighting the scale of the emergency.

Victims were transported to hospital

The Southport ambulance service confirmed that some of the victims are children who have been transported to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. The severity of the injuries and the number of casualties underscore the gravity of the situation.
