A tragic incident has surfaced on social media which shows the collision between two planes in southern Portugal during Air Show. According to the media report, one pilot lost his life in the incident. 

In the video, six aircraft can be seen performing at the event and suddenly one plane collided with the other one, leading to the horrific incident. The pilot who died was a Spanish national.

Another Portuguese pilot got injured and got emergency treatment before being rushed to Beja Hospital.
Meanwhile, Portuguese Defense Minister Nuno Melo has called it tragic and said that an investigation will be done to determine the cause of the collision. 

"It was intended to be a moment of leisure and shared enjoyment," stated President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa. It became a painful moment."

According to the official sources, the six aircraft were part of an aerobatic group known as the "Yak Stars" that included of Portuguese and Spanish pilots. The aircraft that collided was the Soviet-built Yakovlev Yak-52, an aerobatic training model. Six planes were in formation when a spectator recorded the action, shared it on social media, and showed one of the aircraft rising, seemingly hitting one of the others before crashing into the earth in a cloud of smoke.

Following the incident, the air show has been suspended by the Beja airport, which began on Saturday. The Air Force has expressed condolences to the families of kin.
