In the previous five years, at least 633 Indian students have passed away overseas. In the Lok Sabha on Friday, Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh disclosed these astounding numbers. The analysis states that additional variables, in addition to natural causes, are accountable for these deaths. In the last five years, 172 Indian students have perished, making Canada the country with the highest number of deaths.
The US is next on the list, as 108 Indian students lost their lives there. Other nations where deaths have occurred include England (58), Australia (57), Russia (37), Germany (24), Ukraine (18), Georgia (12), Kyrgyzstan (12), and Cyprus (8).
According to Kirti Vardhan Singh, there are explanations outside natural causes for the high number of student deaths. Nine of these students died in Canada and six in America as a result of terrorist acts, totaling 19 student deaths.
Furthermore, in the previous three years, 48 Indian students were deported from the United States. According to Kirti Vardhan Singh, there are no official reports that specifically state why someone was deported. Student visas for migrant workers may be cancelled for a number of reasons, including unapproved employment, absence from school, or other expulsion-related offenses.
"The Indian government is concerned about the safety of Indian students abroad," Kirti Vardhan Singh stated in the Lok Sabha. Based on information provided by the ministry, 633 incidents of Indian students dying overseas have been documented in the previous five years. Aside from natural causes, a variety of factors, such as accidents, medical interventions, and assaults, contributed to the deaths.
