Blair said in a statement that the payment was part of the $500 million in military assistance for Kyiv that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had already committed.
One of the greatest Ukrainian diasporas in the world is located in Canada, which openly supports Kyiv. Ottawa has committed more than C$8 billion in aid since Russia’s invasion in February 2022, including roughly C$1.8 billion in military supplies.
A large number of short- and medium-range air defence missiles and related systems are expected to be purchased through the cooperation, which also involves the United States, the Netherlands, and Denmark.
