Bushra Bibi poisoned with contaminated, 'toilet cleaner' laced food, alleges Pakistan's Ex-PM Imran Khan

Troubled former Prime Minister Imran Khan has informed the court that his wife, Bushra Bibi was given food mixed with ‘toilet cleaner.’ He also claimed that to chemicals inside the food caused her health to deteriorate. Khan made the statement during the hearing of the 190-million-pound corruption case in Rawalpindi's Adiala jail, Imran informed Judge Nasir Javed Rana that additional walls had been erected in the courtroom, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of a closed court.

Khan also disclosed that Chief Medical Officer Dr Asim Yousaf at Shaukat Khanum Hospital had recommended conducting Bushra’s tests at Shifa International Hospital, whereas the jail administration was adamant about conducting the test at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Hospital.

Sharing it on its official social media handle, he claimed that Bushra Bibi falling severely ill as she was poisoned with contaminated, chemical laced food.

The court later advised Imran not to hold "press conferences" during the hearings. In response, Khan said that he interacts with journalists to provide clarification on his views and that his statements have been misquoted.

In response to Khan's statement that the jail administration removes the journalists from the courtroom following the hearing, the court emphasized the value of decorum and suggested speaking with the media after the hearing. In addition, he asked the court to grant him ten minutes to speak with the media following the proceedings.
