India has signed several deals with American multinational airline company, Boeing, in order to boost its defense system and strengthen the Indo-US relationships. Taking notes from the recent agreements, Boeing CEO David L Calhoun said that his company supports Prime Minister Narendra Modis Make in India initiative. This collaboration will play a major role in the rapid expansion of the countrys commercial aviated market, he said. During PM Modis historic state visit to the United States, the airline CEO met the prime minister and held talks on the importance of Boeings eight decades of aerospace partnership with India. What Boeing CEO Calhoun said about deals with IndiaSpeaking to the media on Sunday, CEO Calhoun said, “Boeing is proud to be playing a key role in the rapid expansion of Indias commercial aviation market and in the mission readiness and modernisation of the nations defense forces.”He added, “We support Prime Minister Modis Make in India initiative, with more than 5,000 people in India pursuing high-quality careers doing innovative work on the Boeing team.”Further, Boeings CEO talked about the upcoming and growing investments with India, which will not only strengthen the partnership with the company but also it will be beneficial for the positive trajectory of the broader US-India economic ties. Latest Boeing-India deals Recently, the airline revealed its plans to invest $100 million in infrastructure and pilot training programs in India. Last week, American airline also announced new service contracts in India as well as the finalisation of Air Indias order of up to 290 Boeing planes at the Paris Air Show. This latest development also comes along with the series of deals signed by US and Indian companies during PM Modis meeting with US President Joe Biden in Washington. According to aviation experts, these investments by Boeing are seen as a positive development for the aviation sector in India.
