President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris faced unexpected disruption during their first joint appearance since Biden announced his 2024 re-election bid. The event, held at a community college in Prince George's County, Maryland, just 20 miles from the White House, took an unexpected turn when a group of anti-Israel protesters interrupted Biden’s speech.
As President Biden began addressing the audience, the protesters started chanting anti-Israel slogans, causing a noticeable disturbance. The protest swiftly shifted the atmosphere from supportive chants of "Thank you, Joe" to a moment of tension.
A video of the protest quickly spread across social media, gaining significant attention. An X user highlighted the potential political implications, noting, "Pro-Palestine 'protesters' infiltrated the Biden-Harris event today and heckled them. This could be a MASSIVE problem for the left in November."

Despite the disruption, Biden maintained his composure and continued with his speech, even injecting his trademark humor. He quipped about his long political career, saying, "I served in the Senate for 270 years; I was too damn young. Now, I'm too damn old." He also took a jab at his 2024 rival, former President Donald Trump, humorously dubbing him "Donald Dump."
Vice President Harris showered Biden with praise during her speech, calling him "our extraordinary president" and noting the strong support in the room. She added, "I could speak all afternoon about the person I am standing on this stage with." In a warm moment, Biden responded, "I love you guys too," and playfully suggested that Harris is "going to make a hell of a president."
