Every day, more information about the assassination of Bangladeshi MP Anwarul Azim Anwar, which rocked both countries, comes to light. According to the recent update, an investigation team from Bangladesh will visit Kolkata for the investigation of the case.
Bangladeshi MP Anwarul Azim Anar was found brutally murdered in Kolkata earlier this week.
Sources from the Bengal Crime Investigation Department (CID) state that on Sunday, May 26, a team from Bangladesh's detective branch, commanded by detective chief Harunan Rashid Minto and consisting of three senior officials, is expected to arrive in Kolkata. The two other officers are Sayeedur Rahman and Abdul Ahar.
The team from Bangladesh will meet with Bengal CID and will move to the incident spot for the investigation and other places to find the clue.
The Bangladeshi MP visited India on May 12 for treatment, following which he was found missing. The missing report was filed on May 12. According to police sources, Anwarul, a three-time MP, was assassinated at a Newtown apartment where he had gone to see someone.
Meanwhile, police also suspect a ‘honey trap’ in the case. As per sources, a lady was arrested in Dhaka on Friday who may have been employed to "honey trap" Bangladeshi MP Anwarul Azim before his death. The woman is a Bangladeshi national named Shilanti Rahman, and she is the principal accused Akhtaruzzaman Shahin's girlfriend.
