10 Pakistani soldiers killed in BLA attack in Balochistan (File )
The capital of Pakistan's Balochistan province, Quetta, was once again rattled by gunfire and explosions. The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) on Friday claimed responsibility for a significant attack, stating that their freedom fighters attacked a Pakistan Army convoy with remote-controlled IEDs. During this attack, 10 troops were gunned down on the spot. "This act is a part of our struggle for freedom and our struggle against the enemy will go on with vigor," the BLA said in a statement. Fear of train hijacking still lingers
The BLA has rattled the foundations of Pakistan previously. Last month, Baloch militants hijacked the Jafar Express train. There were around 450 passengers in the train then. The BLA had sought the release of imprisoned Baloch activists and disappeared civilians. The attack followed a bitter clash between the Pakistan Army and Baloch militants that continued for 48 hours. Although the Pakistan Army reported that it had killed 33 militants and freed all the hostages, the Baloch side reported killing over 100 soldiers.
The province of Balochistan has been ablaze for years now about the conflict issue Since the partition of India and Pakistan, the Baloch people feel that they were forcibly integrated into Pakistan. This pain created the Baloch Liberation Army. Emerged during the 1970s, the movement now is among the most powerful voices of independence for Balochistan. The BLA clearly states that the Baloch nation has the right of prior enjoyment over Balochistan's precious mineral and natural resources, not China or Pakistan. The BLA was banned as a terrorist group by the government of Pakistan in 2007, yet the strength of the organisation has only increased.
