The explicit images were then shared on popular social media platforms like Instagram and Snapchat, causing immense distress and trauma to the targeted students and their families.The pictures were lifted from the social media handles of girls enrolled in senior and senior secondary school, the school stated, highlighting the violation of privacy and trust.Police Action and Schools ResponseAuthorities swiftly responded to the incident, with police arresting a teenager believed to be involved in the circulation of the explicit images. Officers have been told a number of images were sent to a person in the Melton area via an online platform on Friday, 7 June, police confirmed. Police have arrested a teenager in relation to explicit images being circulated online. He was released pending further inquiries.Meanwhile, Bacchus Marsh Grammar School has condemned the incident as appalling and is actively working with investigators to remove the doctored images from social media platforms. Andrew Neal, the school principal, expressed deep concern for the well-being of the affected students, stating, It is something that strikes to the heart of students, particularly girls growing up at this age.
