Imran Khan, the PTI Chairman and former Prime Minister of Pakistan, received significant relief when he was granted bail until June 2 by the Lahore Anti-Terrorism Court. Pakistan’s former PM appeared in court on Friday, where the decision was made to grant him bail until the specified date. This comes after Imran Khan did not attend the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Thursday, although he did submit a written response to the questions, as reported by Pakistani media.

The PTI announced on Twitter that “Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has left for anti-terrorism court from Zaman Park.” The video shows that Imran Khan went to the anti-terrorism court to watch the proceedings. According to the most recent reports from Pakistan, Imran Khan appeared before the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in three instances, one of which is related to the attack on the Lahore Corps Commander House. The court was asked to grant bail to Imran Khan so that he may fully participate in the current investigation.

The outcome of the court hearings gave Imran Khan a big triumph, as the ATC granted him temporary bail till June 2. According to Pakistani media, Khan appeared in court via video conference on May 17 and had his interim pre-arrest bail renewed. Imran Khan’s lawyer, Barrister Salman Safdar, addressed the court during a recent court session that the PTI chairman had no choice but to appear virtually due to the current law and order situation. Furthermore, Safdar emphasised that Khan had already survived two assassination attempts and thus requested that his presence be recorded by video link. The lawyer promised the court that Imran Khan would appear at the next hearing on May 19.

Imran Khan’s bail extension gives him temporary relief, allowing him to continue his political activities until June 2. This outcome comes after Khan has been subjected to a number of judicial processes and inquiries. With the court’s approval, Imran Khan can now concentrate on addressing the charges and cooperating with the continuing inquiry. The result of the next hearing, scheduled on May 19, will be critical in determining what happens next in these cases.
