New Delhi: In reports coming across multiple channels and on social media, a violent clash broke out between anti-tax protestors and the security forces on Tuesday in Kenya's capital city Nairobi. The videos that have surfaced so far is filled with continuous sound of shots being fired. People and emergency services staff can also be seen carrying the injured and the dead.

Clashes which erupted between anti-tax demonstrators and security forces, with reports of tear gas deployed and gunfire ringing out. Social media videos captured the chaos, showing panicked crowds, emergency personnel tending to the injured, and the constant crackle of gunfire.

Kenyan Parliament under siege

Thousands of protestors stormed the Kenyan parliament building, highlighting their anger over the proposed tax system. Their demands remain clear: a complete overhaul of the current taxation structure. Reports indicate that demonstrators even occupied the parliament building, with some media outlets claiming they were seen consuming food meant for MPs.

President says he will listen to Kenyans

Despite the violence, the Kenyan government appears ready to engage in dialogue. President William Ruto has acknowledged the protestors' concerns, stating, "I am committed to listening to the Kenyan people."
