A shocking incident has been surfaced from United States, where another Indian student has been found dead. According to the sources, an Indian-American Purdue University student, Sameer Kamath, who was pursuing a doctorate in mechanical engineering was discovered dead in a nature preserve on Monday evening, the Warren County Coroners office reported.Kamath, 23, had completed his masters degree in the same field from Purdue University in August 2023 and got US citizenship, the coroners office confirmed. The police recovered Kamaths body at around 5 pm on Monday at the Crows Grove Nature Preserve, which is part of the Niches Land Trust at 3300 North Warren County Road 50 West, in Williamsport.The report on the forensic autopsy was scheduled for Tuesday afternoon in Crawfordsville is still awaited.This is not the first incident, where an Indian student has been found dead, there have been several recent deaths of Indian-American students in the United States that have caused concern and prompted investigations. The attack on Syed Mazahir Ali follows several recent incidents of violence against students of Indian origin in the United States. Ali was from Hyderabad.Before this, Shreyas Reddy Benigeri, a student at the Lindner School of Business in Cincinnati, Ohio, was found dead on February 1, 2024. The cause of death is still under investigation, but police do not suspect foul play.Akul Dhawan, an 18-year-old student at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, was found dead outside his dorm on January 20, 2024. His autopsy suggested that he died from hypothermia.Vivek Saini, a management graduate, was found murdered at a department store in Georgia on January 16, 2024. He was allegedly attacked by a homeless man.These are just a few of the recent cases that have been reported.
