Another earthquake of 5.67 magnitude jolted the Kyrgyzstan-Xinjiang border region in the wee hours of Wednesday, just a day after the area was hit by a massive quake of 7.2, the German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ) said.

On Tuesday, a 7.2 magnitude earthquake struck the same region of China. According to local media, this quake led to huge destruction, claiming at least three lives, while five others were injured. Meanwhile, several homes were also collapsed.

Following this, the area was hit by numerous aftershocks from 3.0 magnitude and above. Today’s aftershock was very shallow, at a depth of 10 km (6.21 miles), the GFZ stated.
