Elon Musk, the renowned tech billionaire and CEO of Tesla, has stirred controversy with his recent comments about the latest assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump. Musk's remarks have sparked discussions about the lack of similar threats against current US President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.

In response to an inquiry from a user on X, Musk questioned, "Why they want to kill Donald Trump?" He further remarked, "And no one is even trying to assassinate Biden/Kamala." These comments have drawn significant attention and criticism from various quarters.

It is important to note that the statement from Musk came after Donald Trump faced his second assassination attempt on Sunday, when gunshots were fired outside a golf course in Florida where he was playing. The suspect, who left an AK-47-style assault rifle and other items at the scene, fled the area but was later apprehended by US investigative agencies.

This attempt on Trump's life follows a previous incident two months ago, when he was shot at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania, sustaining a minor injury to his right ear.

Trump's response

Following the shooting, Trump Campaign Communications Director Steven Cheung confirmed, "President Trump is safe following gunshots in his vicinity. No further details at this time." Trump himself addressed his supporters, saying, "There were gunshots in my vicinity, but before rumors start spiraling out of control, I wanted you to hear this first: I AM SAFE AND WELL! Nothing will slow me down. I will NEVER SURRENDER!"

Musk's support for Trump

In July, Musk expressed his support for Donald Trump in the upcoming US Presidential elections. Trump has praised Musk for his cost-cutting measures at the social media company and hinted at a potential role for the Tesla CEO should he win the presidency in November.
