News Sources have revealed that US President Donald Trump's officials have made a huge mistake. According to the reports, President Trump's top national security officials allegedly shared intelligence information about US attacks in Yemen in a group in which a journalist was present. This information, considered confidential, came at a time when America has decided to start a new war against Yemen's Houthi rebels. The editor of The Atlantic has claimed that some officials, including Trump's defense secretary, shared important information related to this attack in the group.

War Plan Leak Names Culprit, Timing, and Targets

The US National Security Council has also confirmed that these messages are accurate. A few hours after the incident came to light, President Trump said that he was unaware of it. However, later he was seen joking about it. These messages contained many details. These also mentioned sensitive things like attacks on Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen, targets, deployment of weapons and the sequence of attacks. However, it is not yet clear whether this information was classified or not.

Who all were part of the group?
After the matter came to light, the National Security Council said in a statement that they are investigating how a journalist's number was added to the Signal group chat. Apart from Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Trump's National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard were also included in that group. The journalist has claimed that he received an invitation to join this group from Trump's National Security Advisor Mike Waltz.

At the same time, Pete Hegseth, in his first comment on this matter, has called the journalist a fraud, disgraced and fake journalist. However, the Defense Secretary did not clarify why the Signal app was being used to discuss such a secret and sensitive operation or how the journalist got connected to that group. Hegseth further said, "No one was texting war plans and that's all I have to say about it."

Democratic leaders raised questions
Meanwhile, in a statement late Monday, White House spokeswoman Caroline Levitt said the president has the utmost confidence in Waltz and the national security team. However, Democratic lawmakers have condemned the administration's way of handling highly sensitive information and Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer has demanded an investigation.
