After Ukraine, Russia eyes destruction of Europe: Which major cities are at risk

Trump's recent concessions to Russia have raised concerns among political experts, who fear that these actions have granted the Russian state increased power. As a result, the territories occupied by Russia in Ukraine may not be reclaimed.

In a significant claim, a Kremlin insider has suggested that President Donald Trump's "unconventional" concessions to Russia could potentially grant the nation unrestricted freedom to target major European cities, including Brussels, Paris, or even London. This revelation follows a recent peace talk between the leaders of the United States and Russia, where the Trump administration reportedly dismissed the idea of Ukraine reclaiming Russia-controlled territories.

Trump administration's new strategy

According to media reports, this stance has raised concerns among Ukrainian officials and their allies, while receiving praise from Russian outlets. Experts suggest that the potential return of President Trump to the Oval Office could signal a reduction in American aid to Ukraine. However, many are particularly stunned by Trump's continued camaraderie with Russia, which has sparked widespread debate about the implications of this growing friendship.

Russia's positive reception

In Russia, the mood is markedly positive. During the broadcast of the program "An Evening with Vladimir Solovyov," Karen Shakhnazarov, the General Director of Mosfilm, remarked that the discussions between global leaders should be viewed positively. He stated, "The President of the United States called the President of Russia. This, in itself, is a major success!"

Shakhnazarov described the moment as historic, comparing it to a time when the Roman Empire reached out to Russia. "The bloc is now broken. This means that the Western world's most powerful force, just like Julius Caesar, has spoken directly with the leader of a Germanic tribe."

Questions surrounding NATO's article 5

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has further fueled this discussion by stating that the United States intends to disregard NATO's Article 5 if Europe aligns militarily with Russia. According to NATO’s official website, Article 5 declares that if one NATO ally is attacked, all member states must consider it an attack on them and take necessary steps to defend the ally.

A stark warning to Europe

Political scientist Sergey Mikheyev emphasized the urgency of clearly conveying to Europeans that they may now face attacks on cities like Brussels, London, or Paris, as Article 5 could no longer be guaranteed. He added, "Don't expect the Americans to step in on your behalf."
