Iran's president Ebrahim Raisi has died in a helicopter crash. The country's Mehr news agency said all passengers travelling in the chopper "were martyred". Among the dead are the country's foreign minister and other officials. Now, the biggest question is, who will become the President of Iran after Ebrahim Raisi? To answer this question, Muhammad Mukhbar, who is currently serving as the Vice President of Iran will take Raisi's place as mentioned in the Constitution of Iran. The Vice President will become the Acting President of the country until a new President is formally elected until a new President is formally elected.

Who is Muhmmad Mukhbar?

Muhammad Mukhbar is an Iranian politician who is serving as the acting President of Iran, and the current and 7th Vice President of Iran. He is also a member of the Expediency Discrenment Council. He was former head of the Execution of Imam Khomeini's Order (EIKO), the chairman of board at Sina Bank and deputy governor of Khuzestan Province. He was born in Dezful, Iran. Mohammad Mokhbar was born in 1955. He holds two doctoral degrees, including a doctoral academic paper (and an MA) in International Rights. He also has a doctorate degree in management. He has also done MA in Management.

Several key changes and implications if Mukhbar becomes president

If Muhammad Mukhbar becomes the president of Iran, several key changes and implications can be anticipated based on his background and current political context.

Economic Policies and Challenges:

Mukhbar, currently Iran's First Vice President, has been heavily involved in the country's economic management, which has faced significant criticism. Iran's economy is struggling with high inflation and widespread poverty, issues exacerbated by international sanctions and internal mismanagement. Mukhbar's rise to the presidency might continue the current economic strategies, potentially leading to further economic challenges unless substantial policy changes are implemented.

Continued Hardline Stance:

Mukhber is closely associated with the hardline elements within Iran's political landscape, particularly those aligned with Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. His presidency would likely mean the continuation of conservative policies, both domestically and in foreign affairs. This might include a firm stance on issues like the nuclear program and regional geopolitical strategies.

International Relations:

Given Mukhber's involvement in deals such as the provision of drones and missiles to Russia, his presidency could signal a continued or even strengthened alignment with countries like Russia and China, while maintaining a contentious relationship with the West. This could complicate efforts to revive the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) or improve relations with the United States and European countries.

Internal Political Dynamics:

Mukhber's potential presidency could deepen internal political rifts, especially within the conservative camp. As someone who has faced criticism from hardliners for the government's economic failures, his leadership might face opposition from within his own ranks, leading to potential instability or reshuffling within the government.
