Donald Trump
International News. US President Donald Trump has revoked the security clearance of several senior officials, including former Secretary of State Antony Blinken and former National Security Advisor (NSA) Jake Sullivan. After this, these officials will no longer have the right to access confidential information. In this case, US National Intelligence Director (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard said that this step has been taken on the instructions of US President Donald Trump.
Tulsi Gabbard said other officials whose clearances have been revoked include former US Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco, former US Ambassador to the Czech Republic Norman Eisen, New York Attorney General Letitia James, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and US Attorney Andrew Weissman, as well as 51 other people.
Gabbard posted on X, I have revoked the security clearances of 51 individuals who signed the Hunter Biden misinformation letter, including Antony Blinken, Jake Sullivan, Lisa Monaco, Mark Zaid, Norman Eisen, Letitia James, Alvin Bragg, and Andrew Weissman, and restricted their access to classified information. The President's Daily Brief is no longer being delivered to former President Biden.
In the US, former presidents are usually given intelligence information even after leaving office, but now Trump has broken this tradition. Trump said that Biden had revoked his security clearance after winning the election in 2020. At that time, Biden had cited Trump's 'erratic behavior' as the reason for this, especially on January 6, 2021 when Trump supporters attacked the Parliament House.
While banning the intelligence information given to former President Joe Biden, Trump also gave the reason for this. He said that it is not safe to give intelligence information to Biden. Because Biden's memory has weakened. However, a case of misuse of confidential documents was also filed against Trump himself, but when he won the 2024 election, the Justice Department closed that case.
