The agencies said that they are still waiting to learn the infected man’s current condition. Additionally, there were no indications that the man had come into contact with the disease-carrying dromedary camels.
The initial discovery of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus (MERS-CoV) was found in Saudi Arabia in 2012. Since its recognition, MERS cases have been reported in 27 countries, including Algeria, Austria, Bahrain, China, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Italy, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Oman, the Philippines, Qatar, the Republic of Korea, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, and Yemen.
More than 2,605 cases of the virus have been reported overall, and 936 deaths have been reported, according to the WHO.
