Among the deceased, two of them were civilians said Gegham Stepanyan said in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Further, Stepanyan added later that 138 people, including 29 civilians, had been wounded.

Power outage for 12 hours

In his recent tweet on Wednesday, he talked about the electricity outage the country has been suffering for 12 hours.

He wrote, “As a result of Azerbaijan’s targeting of the high-voltage electricity grid in Martakert region, since September 19, around 14:30, the entire population of Artsakh has been deprived of electricity supply for more than 12 hours now.”

“The deliberate targeting of the vital infrastructure, which leads to more sufferings and deprivations among the civilian population, is yet another terrorist act by Azerbaijan,” Stepanyan added.

What happened on Tuesday?

Earlier, on Tuesday, Azerbaijan sent troops into Armenian-controlled Karabakh, internationally recognised as part of its own territory, in an attempt to bring the region to heel by force. Amid this move, it has raised the threat of a new war with neighbour Armenia.
