Israel attacks Gaza ambulance

Earlier on Friday Israel had also struck a medical convoy near Al-Shifa Hospital killing 15 people and injuring more than 60, the Hamas-controlled health ministry said.

The Israeli Defence Forces have argued that the ambulance was used by Hamas terrorist cell" to transport weapons and militants.

However, no evidence was given by IDF to support their statement, adding that they intend to release further details later.

"We emphasize that this area is a battle zone. Civilians in the area are repeatedly called upon to evacuate southwards for their own safety," the military said.

World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus shared a post condemning the Israeli attacks on ambulances in Gaza.

"Utterly shocked by reports of attacks on ambulances evacuating patients close to Al-Shifa hospital in #Gaza, leading to deaths, injuries and damage. We reiterate: patients, health workers, facilities, and ambulances must be protected at all times. Always. Ceasefire NOW,” wrote WHO chief on X.

Calls for a ceasefire have been emerging across the globe as the civilian atrocities in Gaza increase at an alarming rate. US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken also urged Israel to protect civilians as Israel vows to completely eradicate Hamas.
