Hoax bomb threats: In a span of less than 48 hours, 20 planes received bomb threats, prompting one flight to be diverted to a remote airport in Canada. The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security is currently investigating the situation. Authorities revealed that Tuesdays threats were issued from an unverified account on X, previously known as Twitter.On Tuesday, seven flights were impacted by the threats, including one bound for the United States. Air India Flight AI 127, travelling from Delhi to Chicago, was forced to land at Iqaluit Airport in Canada as a precautionary measure. The flight had taken off from Delhi at 3 am and was diverted due to a security threat. Air India confirmed that both the aircraft and passengers were being re-screened as part of standard security procedures. The airline further stated that assistance was being provided to passengers while the situation was assessed.IndiGo Flight 6E 98, flying from Dammam in Saudi Arabia to Lucknow, made an emergency landing in Jaipur following another bomb threat. A spokesperson from IndiGo said, “We are fully aware of the situation involving Flight 6E 98. The safety of our passengers and crew is our top priority, and we are cooperating with authorities while taking all necessary precautions.”A third affected flight, Air India Express Flight IX 765, travelling from Jaipur to Ayodhya, made an emergency landing in Ayodhya at around 2 pm. Additionally, several other flights, including those operated by Akasa Air and Alliance Air, received similar threats, causing further disruptions.On Monday, three international flights from Mumbai also received bomb threats, which later turned out to be hoaxes. Despite the false alarms, airlines continue to take such threats seriously due to their potential impact.
