Taiwan's parliament has descended into chaos, resembling a wrestling ring, as proposals to empower MPs to monitor the government's work sparked a brawl. The turmoil erupted following the election of the country's new leader, Lai Ching, turning the legislative chamber into a scene of commotion and disorder. Politicians engaged in shouting slogans, pushing, and even leaping over tables in a frantic bid to thwart the passage of a bill. 

Lawmakers claim that bill which was to be introduced, aims to provide China-friendly-camp (KMT, DPP), which has a parliamentary majority, more power. A heated debate in the Taiwanese Parliament between members of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) and the Kuomintang (KMT) turned violent as discussions centered on a proposal to criminalize MPs for allegedly making false statements in Parliament. Tensions flared as the two parties clashed over the contentious issue, with accusations flying from both sides. The situation escalated rapidly, resulting in a chaotic uproar and physical altercations breaking out among lawmakers.

Video footage capturing the uproar in parliament has gone viral, spreading rapidly across social media platforms. The videos depict parliamentarians scratching each other's hair, dragging one another, and snatching files while hastily exiting the chamber.

Another video surfaced showing a member allegedly stealing a file, purportedly containing the bill scheduled for presentation in parliament. The protest was instigated by opposition parties opposing lawmakers' efforts to increase government oversight. According to some opposition members, the bill aims to grant greater power to the China-friendly camp (KMT, DPP), which holds a parliamentary majority.
