New Delhi: Hudson Joseph Meek, a 16-year-old actor renowned for portraying Young Baby in the 2017 film "Baby Driver," tragically passed away on December 22, 2024, following an accident in Vestavia Hills, Alabama. On December 19, Meek sustained severe injuries after falling from a moving vehicle and was transported to UAB Hospital in Birmingham, where he succumbed to his injuries two days later.

Born on August 5, 2008, in Alabama, Meek began his acting career at a young age. He made his professional debut in the 2014 holiday film "The Santa Con" and subsequently appeared in "90 Minutes in Heaven" (2015) as Chris Piper. His most notable role was as the young version of the protagonist in "Baby Driver." Meek also had guest roles in television series such as "MacGyver" and "Genius," and was involved in projects slated for release in 2025.

Beyond his acting endeavors, Meek was a sophomore at Vestavia Hills High School and an active member of the school's football team. He was known for his vibrant personality, quick wit, and passion for making others laugh. His family highlighted his love for sports, traveling, and spending time with friends.

In the wake of his passing, Meek's family announced plans for a memorial service to be held on December 28 at Dawson Memorial Baptist Church in Homewood, Alabama. They have also established the Hudson J. Meek Memorial Scholarship, intended to support students at Vestavia Hills High School. The Vestavia Hills Police Department is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident, though no foul play is suspected.

Meek's untimely death has elicited an outpouring of tributes from the entertainment industry and his local community, all mourning the loss of a promising young talent whose life was tragically cut short.
