Who is Kani Kusruti? (Instagram)

New Delhi: Kani Kusruti is an Indian actress who gained fame with the film 'Kerala Cafe' in the year 2009. She won the best actress award at the Kerala State Film Awards. 

She was born in Cheruvakkal, a small village and her parents were social activits. She invented her last name Kusriti when she was filling her class 10 exam form.

She enrolled for the Thrissur school of drama in the year 2005 and 2007. She made her theater debut in Baudhayana's classic farce 'Bhagawadajjukam'. 

The actress has also made serious claims against the Malayalam Film Industry and also made shocking claims that many filmmakers have approached her mother to convince her to give in to their demands.


Kusruti is currently grabbing headlines for her upcoming film 'Girls will be girls'. The film is set to premiere on 18th December on  Prime Video. 
The trailer of the show has already received an overwhelming response in the internet with its impeccable story line and star cast. 

The film is directed and written by Shuchi Talati and it stars Preeti Panigrahi, Kani Kusruti, and Kesav Binoy Kiron in key roles. 

The story of the film is set In a strict boarding school nestled in the Himalayas, 16-year-old Mira discovers desire and romance. But her sexual, rebellious awakening is disrupted by her mother who never got to come of age herself.
Apart from 'Girls will be girls' Kani Kusruti is also seen in films like 'All we imagine as 'light',  'The Quarrel','Falvours of Flesh', 'Tryst with Destiny' etc.
