Revisiting Seasons 1 and 2

The first season of Panchayat was out in 2020 and captured the journey of an engineering graduate Abhishek Tripathi, brilliantly portrayed by Jitendra Kumar, who had joined as secretary of a panchayat office in the remote village of Uttar Pradesh. The first season shows how Tripathi tries to cope with the challenges including local politics, cultural barriers and bureaucratic roadblocks, adapting to the low-key rural lifestyle.

Season 2 released in 2022 reflected Sachiv Ji's established bond with Pradhan Ji's family as an extended family member and implies that Abhishek and Rinki, Pradhan Ji's daughter, giving a love angle. But Abhishek brushes it off. Later, as he attempts to deal with the primary antagonist, Bhushan, and his wife, Kranti, who are members of the opposing faction, he becomes involved in the development of the village by building roads and installing CCTV.  The season's last episode titled 'Parivaar' was highest rated carrying a 9.6 IMDb rating.

The success of the last two seasons had raised audiences' expectations to a great extent and Panchayat 3 seems to stand by it, bringing in another tale of a lighthearted yet unabashedly honest portrayal of hinterland politics, taking audiences to the grassroots system of self-governance and intricacies involved in it.
